I am a graduate of Dow Medical College (now University), currently practicing Academic Radiology in the United States.  I have keenly followed the progress of the JPMA over the last several years and am extremely pleased with the direction provided by the editorial leadership.  Publication of articles with particular significance to the practice of Medicine and Surgery in Pakistan has vastly improved the volume of information available in regard to regional health issues.  The editorial board has taken on the difficult and challenging task of encouraging our young researchers and clinicians in their endeavors, and at the same time trying to maintain a high standard of research material and educational excellence.  Publishing a medical journal of international caliber is a huge undertaking and it is quite remarkable that given their limited financial and human resources, the JPMA has had such a resounding success.  I wish the JPMA Board, its contributors and its readers the best and look forward to the next issue with great expectations.
